Dr. Lakshmanan Krishnamurti, MD is a pediatric hematologist oncologist of 25 years standing with a primary research focus interest in sickle cell disease (SCD). His main areas of interest are clinical and patient-centered outcomes research in SCD. His areas of focus include pain, newborn screening, , community and international outreach, hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, and the use of technology to enhance delivery of care. His research has been funded by NHLBI, NICHD, CDC, HRSA, PCORI, Cooley’s Anemia Foundation and Abraham and Phyllis Katz Foundation. He is currently the PI of an NHLBI U01 grant for a multicenter study of HCT for young adults with SCD, and OTA with NHLBI for the Sickle Transplant Evaluation of Long term and Late Effects Registry(STELLAR).
