Tartania Brown obtained her B.A. from New York University and her M.D. degree from SUNY Downstate School of Medicine. Dr. Brown completed her residency, chief residency and fellowship in palliative care at Montefiore University. Dr. Brown is double boarded in Internal Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Care. She has also received a certification in Bioethics from Yesheva University and a license to dispense medical cannabis for chronic pain. For the past 10 years Dr. Brown has worked for MJHS Health System where she now serves as the Director of Palliative Care Provider Practice.
Dr. Tartania Brown is affiliated with several community-based organizations and a board member of Candice's Sickle Cell Fund. As an expert in the field of pain management and sickle cell disease, she has lobbied the government for better care for patients living with non-visible disabilities including sickle cell disease. In addition to being a motivational speaker, Dr. Tartania Brown is an author, an advocate, and the recipient of the BBC Inspirational Award of 2020.
