Carlton Dampier MD is affiliated with the AFLAC Cancer and Blood Disorders Center at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, and has an appointment as Professor of Pediatrics at Emory University School of Medicine, where he is also the program director of Regulatory Knowledge and Support for the local NCATS-funded CTSA award, the Georgia Clinical and Translational Science Alliance (Ga-CTSA). He also serves as chair of the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta IRB and vice-chair for the Emory University IRB.
Dr Dampier has over 35 years of patient care experience in pediatric sickle cell disease. He is one of the leading pediatric sickle cell clinical trial investigators, having been a principal investigator for over 25 multisite SCD clinical trials and observational studies, including industry-funded trials and extensive involvement in the Comprehensive Sickle Cell Center’s Clinical Trial Consortium during the 2003-2008 funding cycle. He was a member of the Steering Committee for the RESET clinical trial, and presents the poster on behalf of the it’s investigators.
